I hated that! Posted by MI-Roger [Email] (#882) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MI-Roger) on Thu, 2 Jul 2015 08:39:16 In Reply to: Brakes Squealing when backing up, Blake, Thu, 2 Jul 2015 07:04:07 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I had the same problem with my '08 Aero. I finally replaced the rear pads with Saab branded pads made by Textar and the problem ceased. The pads I removed were also Saab branded but used an Akebono friction material bonded to an Ate backing plate. I am guessing this relationship because of the size and location of the three names on each pad.
I also have a Motive Power Bleeder. I always use a turkey baster (mine from the garage, not the wife's from the kitchen) to remove most of the brake fluid in the resevoir then carefully re-fill with fresh fluid. I pour the remainer of the fluid in the Power Bleeder, firmly attach bleeder to the resevoir, and pressurize to 10psig. Then I start the process of bleeding each caliper while also maintaining an eye on the fluid level in the Power Bleeder.
