Best of luck...You'll need an expert analysis!!! (If it's worth it after the expense..!) I had a 4.0 liter Mustang skid uphill into the driver side rear door/wheel well of my '85 900 Turbo at an Interstate offramp in Northern PA. We were spun around 90 degrees with our infant safely belted into his child seat in the middle of the rear seat. We had to leave the car for a few months with a bent rear axle and body damage. The State Police unofficially remarked that I was probably out too far into the intersecting county road at the stop sign and the kids with their hot car were probably going too fast. A 125 foot skid uphill (I took photos..) seemed in excess of the posted 45 MPH speed limit!!!! The insurance adjuster didn't think much of my evidence, saying there were all sorts of factors that come into play (tires, inclination of road, temperature, price of gasoline, color of the moon, etc....!!). With no personal injury involved, he was basically going the "no fault" route on the accident, and I did end up having to buy my beloved car back at salvage value based on it's "totaled" then current value-to-repair ratio.
Our '85 Saab probably saved us some bodily harm, and sits in honor in our driveway with a worn out transmission and other repairable ailments. For the time being, we'll be secure in our 1999 Saab 9-5..!!
Best of luck, nonetheless.
