My indy didn't align the 140amp alternator properly so the belt rides 1/8-1/4" off-center on the tensioner (away from the engine). I forgot to double check the tensioner for play, but I don't think that's it given this started after the alternator job. Is there a washer or something they could have left off the tensoner? The new one I have has no washers.

What do I do now?
1) Have indy redo it? This might not go well even though it's the indy's mistake. I gave him a printout with the photos of what to do.
2) Redo it myself in spring? So much for trading money to avoid this job.
3) Leave it alone? What are the ramifications of that? Reduced belt life? Reduced tensioner pulley life? Something else?

Should I mod the alternator or source a newer alternator bracket from an 02+ car?
