So there are two similar valves? Garage bill says it was the "Turbo Charger Boost Pressure Valve". But thanks I will check your advice in day-time.
Today's update is no change since yesterday; took a 90-minute round trip to see the SuperBowl in NYC, about 50% highway; initially, the rev counter into the red when hitting 2nd or 3rd gear, after 15 minutes, I get a slight improvement, but no more than that, and then only when I hit city streets at say 30 minutes, or for the last few miles, does the problem go away.
Pattern repeated on the way back, like clockwork. I should say this is a 2004 Arc, so the turbo has modest kick and its hard to say that it recovers 100%; but for sure the rev counter behaved normal, and its hard to get into even the yellow zone on my quiet local streets. This after about 25 minutes driving.
