Second the motion on Fiberglas.
Been using this his for years on all sorts of holes, up to five or six inches by two inches. Fits curves, deep bends, redid an '80 Saab 99 lower trunk with it.
This has been perfect for extending the lifespan of many 9000 front fenders, arches, and the gap between rear doors and rear wheel arch. Last year I redid the front floor, both sides, beneath the carpeting, above the jack pad supports in the 98 CSE.
Wet the area well, push dry Fiberglas mat (cut to size) on the wet area, then paint POR-15 on top of the cloth. Two or three more thin coats after it dries. Holds up very well, adds at least some strength to a rusted wheel arch, paintable with POR-15 topcoat if you wish. Gloves! Xylol thinner/cleanup if it gets on your skin - right away, or you're wearing it for a week or so. Disposable brushes, and use Saran Wrap as a gasket before you put a top back on an open can of POR-15, or it's not opening again IF any liquid in the rim.
