IIRC, the block that all those big fuses plug into takes power directly from a link that is a spur off of the positive battery cable.
Bob's comments about common electrical gremlins are logical, and a corroded battery cable can and will cause strange symptoms, and can also masquerade as bad battery or alternator.
A thorough check of the battery and charging system is a good idea, along with a voltage drop test on the battery cable(s). Note that the voltage drop is the way to test the cable performance under load.
