93b is right on, and after answering your direct question, I should have mentioned this in my reply.
The system is VERY fickle about the amount of refrigerant in the system - too much or too little and you will have unsatisfactory results, and you would be surprised how little a variance it takes.
The 9-5 system takes 875g (1.93 lbs) of R134a. I honestly have had the most success over the years having a shop evacuate & test the integrity of the system, hold the vacuum and refill to spec.
Just my experience (not having access to a vacuum pump and gauges)
