I removed the good door lock from my parts car and started looking at it to see how I can open the lock. I took out the screws in the back and bend a tab and peeked inside by lifting a corner. This gave me a pretty good idea of the 2 step ratchet that locks the mechanism.
Today I got braver and use a small rotary saw on a Dremel and carefully cut the lower half of the cover off. Well what do you know......there is a pin that when pushed down releases the latch. I can drill a 3/8 hole or slightly larger in the plastic back and get to the pin!!!
Now I know exactly where it is and the motion I need.
I am tied up now, but sometime in the next day or so I can drill that hole and try to open it. Luckily It looks like I can get in there with an angled electric drill and make the hole I will keep you posted.
