I replaced the front pads on my 2008 9-5 last year and went with the 'new' SAAB branded pads. They are not as aggressive as the Mintex Red Box semi-metallic pads I ran in my 2000 9-5, but were a BIG improvement over the circa 2008 stock factory pads.
I had previously gotten rid of the original factory rear pads and went with the new SAAB branded pads for that axel too. Same results.
The wife's 9-3SC brakes great with the ceramic pads but not my 9-5.
