It probably not a common problem and not a weak spot - 9-5s are generally well protected and designed. Common spots are the dog legs. rear edge of front hood at the corners only, gas tank door etc.. I hesitate to look too closely at the bottom of the doors because I will probably be disappointed that I find some traces of rust there. The 9-5 doors are very robust and seem to be made of high strength steel by how they resist dents. Unlike my late 9000. I kept goldfish in the doors since they were always filled with water until I took the plugs out permanently. By then the inside edge looked like swiss cheese. You may want to practise removing the trim at a junkyard to develop a process. Let us know what happens! I do squirt anti-corrosion oil into the inside bottom of the doors. The only time I had the door panels off to service the window rollers on a driver and passenger door in the past on a 9-5, the bottoms were oilys and essentially rust free. I do occasionally test and or clean the door drains.
