Rust repair on bottom edge of doors? Posted by Davecl [Email] (#1994) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Davecl) on Thu, 21 Mar 2019 14:37:05 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I've checked the 9-5 forum and haven't found anything about this. Advice, please. I notice a little bubbling in the paint just about the thin black plastic trim piece on the bottom edge of each door. I want to take these trim pieces off, stop the rust with some SEM or something, paint with POR15 and reinstall the trim pieces. Removal looks straightforward, but it's so low I can't see it that well.
So my questions: are there any hidden fasteners or tricks to removing these pieces? Has anyone done this type of rust prevention/remediation? Oh the joys of 16 years of rolling on salt roads in Massachusetts...
