I assume the consensus on the board is if the valve develops a leak in flight, the emergency procedure is to turn off the AC in order to limp home to your shade tree. Seemed to work for me a couple of years ago. Symptoms are a low coolant message and a puddle of coolant on the pavement under the valve (fire wall a bit right of steering wheel if you are sitting in the pilots seat (LH drive). I purchased a remote hose clamp tool to facilitate clamp removal from Princess Auto in Canada. The equivalent is Harbour Freight in the US of A.
