Long ago I disconnected the vacuum lines to the heater valve but never removed it per a post on this board. When I had the water pump done I had the hose kit put in that deletes the heater bypass valve. I checked over the tech's work and he botched the vacuum line work so I redid it as you described - two years ago December. Last night I found the connector loose above the brake vacuum booster. I'll have the go looking for the solenoid where it plugs in. I'm very familiar with the solenoid that controls the boost (55354158) but it must be an additional one below or around it somewhere.
The connector didn't just connect to the heater control valve does it? I look at photos of the bypass valve and there's no obvious connector or it.
I'll see what I can find in the WIS - AND I'll check the connector on the boost bypass (55354158). Boy would that be a big DUH-OH if it's just disconnected!
