Sunroof won't close completely Posted by Chip Fichot [Email] (#2597) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Chip Fichot) on Fri, 6 Sep 2019 19:43:46 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
So, I'm 2 for 2 on something going wrong on the way home from picking up my Saab (2003 9-5 Linear / 27K miles) from the shop (2 hours away)....
This time, I opened the sunroof and it won't close completely.
It seems to be hung up on the mechanism that will lower the deflector and start raising it up into the opening so it sits flush with the roof - it's about 2/3 of the way closed.
I didn't want to burn the motor out so I didn't try hard with the switch, but I did try closing it manually with the screw mechanism in the front of the sunroof and no difference.
No difference if I manually hold the deflector down, either. I searched quickly on some old posts on here and that seemed to work for some folks. From the posts it seems that some had this issue remedied under warranty.
Was working in the dark with the remnants of Dorian blowing around me, so gave up and covered it with plastic. I'll take a better look tomorrow, but I thought I'd throw a post out to see if anyone has any pointers.
TIA.
