I was able to get the sunroof closed - In the daylight I was able to see what the issue is.
There are two mounting brackets that hold down the rear end of the deflector apparatus; they had both bent and were getting in the way of the sunroof moving forward on the track.
I got it closed by using a pair of stiff putty knives to hold down the bent brackets while I manually closed the sunroof using the screw.
When I have some time I will take a better look at it - doesn't seem like anything is broken, just bent, so it seems like there *MAY* be a way to repair it.
Thanks again, Saabista - At least I know a remedy if I can't repair it!
