I like Mark's trick.
But a few other thoughts:
- could you simply disconnect the "input side" of the fuel pump and drain fuel (slowly) that way?
- how much fuel is in the tank? maybe just fill it up to "freshen" it?
- Idle for 2 hrs, wont really hurt the catalyst or engine, I assume you are suggesting this to burn off the old fuel? but if you are idling anyway, why not just drive it?
