Similar problem - Operator Error cause Posted by MI-Roger [Email] (#882) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MI-Roger) on Tue, 26 Nov 2019 16:01:59 In Reply to: Not the bulb - Not the orange relay - Any suggestions?, Mike Johnson, Tue, 26 Nov 2019 05:52:11 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
It was only a couple weeks ago when I experienced similar/identical symptoms. Bulbs were only a couple moths old, swapping out the Headlamp Relay and the Orange Relay with those from my Viggen did not solve the intermittent lamp failure issue.
Then I looked at the bulbs again.....
The plastic body holding the bulb push-on connections had failed previously. In an unknown act of carelessness, instead of pushing the bulb connector onto one of the bulb stabs, I had wedged the bulb stab between the connector and the remnants of the plastic body.
The fit was tight enough initially that it worked fine for a couple months. Until it didn't.
Careful insertion of the bulb stab into the connector solved the problem.
