Oil Leak at PCV box connection to block (2006) Posted by Mark in Marine [Email] (#1837) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Mark in Marine) on Sat, 28 Dec 2019 12:22:12 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
One of my daughters' 9-5 SC's has a noticeable leak at the O-ring seal between the block and the PCV oil trap (collector) box. I discovered it when replacing the starter.
I am posting to ask whether there is enough room to separate the box far enough from the block to sneak in a new O-ring WITHOUT having to remove the alternator. I will probably wait to do this job until it warms up in my unheated detached garage..
I linked a post from Swedecar commenting on need to remove alternator to REPLACE the PCV box, but in this case the box SEEMS okay - just oil coming down the side of the block from the connection.
Thanks for input.
