I had a similar deal years ago with my 2001 Aero.

the adjuster was pretty green [I had always dealt with another more experienced guy] I pointed out brand new tires, BBS wheels, recent engine rebuild and all I spent on that. He did not seem to care.....sure enough they came back with $2600.00....n on of my discussion was included in the settlement

I went balistic and asked for the comps. They had a rag tag bunch of 3 low level Saabs [no Aeros] at LA used car lots and they averaged them. I really went ballistic. I have been with this company for over 45 years at the time.

I told them about all the repairs and new engine and new tires. They said send in receipts. So I sent them a 37 page .pdf of parts receipts and repairs, along with a summary page and explanation. the total was a big number, but I had paper on everything from that period when the engine was rebuilt and we put a lot of money the the 2001 Aero sedan.

I called them doggedly and fought with them. They came back finally with giving me a % of the total on the receipts and the total settlement came out to $5300.00 USD. I took it, and bought the car back immediately for $140.00!

Next I bought a red 2000 Aero wagon from NM that had a bad engine and a quite few parts removed for $450......the 2001 was now my parts car to fix the 2000. Won't bore you with the rest of the story right now. The 2000 is done and wonderful.

Fight back....you got nothing to lose....the settlement won't go down.

It was worth fighting. Don't take their first offer.
