the patient is a 1999 9-5 Base model, manual, 208k mi.
patient presents with a torn innner cv boot on the drivers side. Patient otherwise in good health with no symptoms or complications due to the torn boot.
I've decided to keep the original axle and CV joints and replace the boot only. I am using oem: https://www.eeuroparts.com/Parts/52604/CV-Joint-Boot-Front-Inner-5532775/
what is the plastic ring, seen in the eeuro listing and in the pic from my workbench. seems like I dont need it at all.
