The wheels... Posted by PGAero [Email] (#1143) [Profile/Gallery] (more from PGAero) on Wed, 29 Apr 2020 20:32:08 In Reply to: Re: 60K mile service..., Gary P, Wed, 29 Apr 2020 18:39:39 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I do have the same concern about the "soft" wheels on a car that's heavier than the Viggen. So far, so good! I'm lucky to have generally nice roads around here, but I won't be too surprised if I bend one someday. I sold my Viggen with my '04 9-5 Aero wheels on it. I like the more aggressive offset of the Viggen wheels, and the '06 wheels were very beat up from parallel parking by "feel" on the part of the previous owner. I have two spare Viggen wheels lying around (one in the spare wheel well), but they are plain silver and not the "hyper silver" like Viggen wheels were originally.
I have a set of the Klingon ('99-01 Aero three-spokes) for my winter set.
I also love the look of this car. (Though a white '04-'05 Aero Wagon is still my favorite of the 9-5 run). I took the "comfort" seats out of this one (they were parchment/cream) and put the black Aero set in from my '03 Aero. Interestingly, the black seats with 186K are in better shape that the cream ones, which had only 46K on them.
Here's the car in winter mode:
