Well I got the parts earlier this week and everything looked good. Almost all the hoses are the hard plastic type, so I'm hoping they last. I didn't see anything that caused me any concern.
As far as installing the parts, that was a bit of a pain. I dove in blindly, and then after seeing what I was working with decided to research a bit (normally I do the research first!). I found this awesome post by Bill N which helped a ton: https://www.saabnet.com/tsn/bb/9-5/index.html?bID=276333
However, when I got to the part about removing the exhaust and/or alternator to get the oil trap out my heart dropped. That was NOT something I wanted to do so I tried to sneak it out the top. I did have to remove both wires going to the alternator, as well as unhook the positive cable from the starter, and remove the oil filler hose. But once I did that, I was able to maneuver the oil trap out the top of the engine. It just barely fits over the top of the alternator. I had to push some stuff out of the way but it does come out. My car is a 2005 manual 4 cylinder so I'm not sure if the 2004 is the same. I didn't have any issues with O rings or anything, though pushing the hoses on was a bit of a chore.
No real noticeable improvements while driving, but I'm hoping my wet block and slight oil consumption goes away.
