Well, it had to be assembled somehow, in another words, has to come apart without damaging components.if you notice that smaller carbon portion that rotates on the shaft has two if I am not mistaken, spring like copper contacts that slides on a bigger carbon pot. Once the two separate contact is lost. I fail to see any other means the two are attached.
I'll do the same next time I am at auto wreckers junk yard, will get TB and take it apart completely or at least separate the two.
