Fellow v6 owner here.
In my opinion, you can get it clean enough without removal. Removal is moderately challenging because of the bolt placement, and a new gasket would be recommended if you do remove.
Looking at the front of the car, the throttle body is underneath the plastic engine cover on the right hand side of the engine. Remove the large hose from the cobra pipe and you will have good access.
With the v6 there's usually some oil pooled in there, both in the intake piping and at the front of the throttle body, clean that out and then you can spray an acceptable cleaner onto the butterfly flap or onto a rag and get both sides of the flap as much as possible.
Each time I've had the TB off, the back of the sensor and butterfly flap has been quite clean which is why I don't recommend the effort to remove unless it's looking really gnarly in there.
