Same car, 2002 v6, 90k miles. I did some of the same work, fuel pump, filter, 1yo battery, charging system tested ok, battery tested ok, positive cable tested ok. I would charge the battery and the car would start normally for a few days and then the hard starts would recur. After reading a lot of old posts I ran across some that talked about the onstar system killing the battery. I pulled the fuse labeled telematics to isolate the onstar, charged the battery, and have not had a problem since. Its in the fuse box panel in the dash, #19.
