Perplexing 02 95 V6 hard start issue

Been trying to solve this hard start issue for a year since getting this marvel mystery V6 with less than 100k miles.
Any weather conditions, sometimes fires right up, sometimes cranks 2,3,4 times or more without firing. Sometimes can wait 30 sec. or so and crank again, then fires. Sometimes a steering wheel yank while cranking will fire it up (or maybe unrelated). Once it fires up, runs without a hitch, smooth as silk.
Plenty of fuel pressure at the injectors while cranking but looks like something not sending a signal for them to open.
Parts swapped out to troubleshoot or just replaced, one by one (not in order) to troubleshoot:
Crank sensor
Fuel check valve
Fuel pump
Alternator (with iffy diode)
Computer
Battery
Starter switch
Theft module under driver's seat
Some excess corrosion on battery & other terminals present early on but cleaned up, Seemed to maybe make some difference each time but then back to the usual.
After brand new battery, fired up fine 4 or 5 times, then next day back to the usual.
The very weird part: If I yank the st. wheel while cranking, it often (not always on first try though) will fire up soon as it's yanked.
Anybody have ANY idea what might be going on?
