I was back under the hood again today, still chasing leaks from the By-Pass Hoses. I saw the upper firewall connection was dripping down onto the lower connection, so I tightened tbe upper clamp. If two of the four were loose then I better tighten the others too.
I removed the upper engine cover to get better access to the upper rear hose clamp and stopped in my tracks!
The brand new O-Ring on the Throttle Body Inlet was hanging out from beneath the Charge Air Tube!
It must have been cut nearly through at the factory and failed in less than 20 miles of use. I installed another new one after inspecting it for damage.
BTW - All four hose clamps on the By-Pass Hoses had loosened over the 5 years since installation. Much easier to tighten if you do it before they start "walking" and the clamping screw winds up in an inaccessible spot!
