So I followed Jeremy's advice and ran the engine without the mount and supported on a jack with a block of wood. No issues. I took the serpentine belt off as well so oil was not spraying everywhere as before. The leak was obvious, coming (pouring) from the timing chain tensioner area. It's hard to believe that so much oil can pour out so quickly. I ordered a new seal and O ring but I'm not confident that it will solve the problem. But what else could it be? The existing O ring was replaced about 2 years ago and it is still pliable. Anyway, I will replace it and the seal on Monday when the parts arrive and we'll see what happens. By the way, when I first took out the tensioner I noticed that the pushrod was missing. It must have sprung loose when I last changed the O ring. I fashioned a replacement push rod from a nylon screw. I can't see how that would contribute to the leak, but ???
I'll post my results on Monday evening. Thanks for your suggestions.
