Don, I'm not sure I understand your question. The interior fuel line comes up and plugs into rubber gromet on the pump assembly (as I recall). I left the interior lines as they were and was careful with the placement of the fuel level sender "arm". I believe the interior hard lines are routed in such a way as to avoid tangling up in anything. The exterior hoses have recesses molded into the plastic tank and were also secured with duct tape from hell. This was not clear to me when I was doing this job because I could not see the top of the tank well enough from the inside of the car looking down nor the bottom when I had the tank dropped five inches; this uncertainty in hose routing and the general lack of access decided for me that dropping the tank was the best option. Now that I understand and have seen the hoses there is nothing special going on; replacing the hard lines with flexible injection hoses would allow keeping the tank in place assuming you were willing to use a hard line hose repair kit...its like a push to connect Pex fitting found in plumming for H2O.I did not see a way to pull the pump assembly without cutting the hard line hoses because they were preventing the removal of the assembly (no play) and were very well secured to the top of the tank. I did not want to do this because of the uncertainty. After I pulled the tank, I had no issues with the hoses: the interior hoses stayed in the tank and as I recall I didn't mess with them except to remove the ones plugged into the assembly. I would have to go back and look at the WIS diagrams-I'm thinking that there is the outflow line, the return line and the vent to the evap canister located on the passenger side of the tank. PM/call me and we can discuss the repair. craigharroff@aol.com
