The holes in the aluminum shield were torn but I was able to remove all quick-nuts without damaging the studs. I went to the local ACE Hardware and bought some SS Fender Washers and some Neoprene Fender Washers which fit the studs. Arranged them as Nut - SS Fender Washer - Neoprene Fender Washer - Heat Shield when reinstalling the shield.
