You did not mention a model year for your car. In the OWNER'S MANUAL for my 2000 9-5 SE in the part about the SID (starts on page 54), it states it can be cleared by holding the CLEAR button for at least 4 seconds. When it clears or adds a value like speed warning, the SID will beep or ping.

Check your owner's manual for your procedure as it could vary year to year. If you don't have a manual, Saabnet has a whole collection and you can download your model year's.
