Have You Checked The Alternator Output? Have you checked the alternator output with the car running? It ought to be around 13.8 to 14.2 volts.
Don’t t know about the diesels, but I lived through a battery drain issue in 2016 in a gas V6 engine. After the battery kept discharging, with an ammeter in the circuit, I sequentially pulled and replaced each fuse in the driver’s door panel and each one under the hood trying to isolate the drain. None of those actions worked. I finally got under the car and got the exciter lead off the alternator and the drain went away. It was one or more bad diodes in the regulator in the alternator that caused the drain. New alternator solved the problem.
If your original battery has a bad cell, that can kill the alternator diodes and cause a drain.
