Thanx Hawks. I finally realized the plug is fixed to the cage and the radio unplugs from the connector as it's pulled from the cage. I had such a dickens of a time pulling it out originally I paid a car audio guy to pull it and now I know he wasn't sure either, ended up prying away the dash bezel and removing radio and cage together. There are a lot of older 93 radio vids out there and I finally found this one on 95's: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fTBnWG7cswU It shows the crevice on the bottom of the radio into which is placed a 'puller' of sorts to help disconnect. My problem now is how to get the "Radio Code" and how to input it. From the donor car I have the VIN and from the unit the serial # but there are no longer dealerships to call. I called SAAB USA parts and they were unable to get a code. The donor unit was not "unmarried" before pulling it but I thought by getting the vin AND the radio's serial# I could get a "Radio Code" to enter that would override the lockout. Has anyone ever done this?
BTW, I came across this site that has a complete breakdown of all the different Audio systems in SAABs AND relative wiring/configuration diagrams I thought very useful for troubleshooting/modifications etc. http://z90.pl/saab/Angry%20Kitchen%20Appliances_%20Saab%209-5%20Audio%20FAQ.html
