2002 SAAB 9-5 Transmission Oil Change

I drain the automatic transmission every 3rd engine oil change. I don't know how much it holds, somewhere around 10 quarts? Only 4 quarts come out during a service but yesterday, I had the car on ramps and left the drain plug while I had lunch. Put 4 in quarts of Toyota fluid and checked the level after a short drive. It was at the very bottom of the normal range, which is lower than normal. I know I should add maybe a pint but for some reason, after this transmission oil change, the car shifts better than ever. Shifts seem more crisp so hopefully a little low oil level won't hurt anything. I use Toyota T-IV transmission fluid because the Parts Manager at the local Toyota Dealer gave me a jobber's price of $4.40 a quart. So I bought cases of it. When I drain it, the oil looks perfectly new, no burnt smell, not discolored at all. Probably wasting my money.
