If it is truly the TCM, which at this point, I believe that it is, the sad story is being told by a Transmission Shop that I need a new Transmission for $1000's of dollars. Most People would probably give them the job - but not me. I found a TCM out of a 2002, SAAB 9-5, 3.0V6 in Utah for $140 with zero guarantees or refunds. That is the exact year and model we own. The TCM came out of a junkyard vehicle that was there for blown head gaskets. Found another TCM in Pennsylvania for $128 shipped. Goldwing? wants $350 for one with a warranty. So far, driving our beloved SAAB with an Ice Pack on the TCM has been successful. I really want to open the TCM but I can't get the cover off. If I get an replacement that works, I will get the cover off the failed one forcibly and see if I can repair it. The board is probably potted which makes it hard to repair.
Good to hear from you, Swedecar.
