Before pronouncing the switch dead, follow Bernie’s advice to see if it is getting power. In my 2000 9-5 I have had a problem for years with the passenger seat. I have reached the conclusion that sometimes the seat “computer” goes to sleep and you have to wait for it to awaken before the seat works again. I went over the connectors on the seat and the door switch but the computer seems the only logical solution based on the symptoms. I haven’t figured out a reliable way to wake up the computer so I live with the problem. If your seat has the memory function, don’t overlook that memory button switch because that can also cause the seat to malfunction. Before I replaced a memory button switch with a good used one, I found unplugging the switch made the seat work again.
