In an earlier post in this thread I said that the switch on the left side is OEM part number 5106141 and "seems to be for all years of the OG 9-5 and related to the cruise control system". Well, strangely enough, my cruise control stopped working about 3 months later, intermittently at first and then consistently in that it would not set and hold a speed.
I had my 2008 9-5 in to my local Saab mechanic for some other work and asked them to check this. They said that that switch on the left was replaced with part number 42-33-342 to fix the cruise control....so I am not sure now if the other information I found on the OEM part number was incorrect or my 2008 year 9-5 needed this different part number. Just leaving this here for others that may search on this issue.
