What's the easiest way to tell if you have an amplifier

I have 2005 9-5 ARC wagon with the normal radio/tape/CD set-up (not the NAV unit model). I am planning to install an aftermarket Carplay unit. In doing some background reading, I keep hearing you need "this" if you have an amplifier versus "that" if you don't. What's the easiest way to determine which I have?
