So my previous post from 7/12, the rear DIC was all cracked and burnt inside. The root of the problem was the spark plug holes had lots of oil in them. I replaced both valve-cover gaskets and the 6 NGK Plugs. I installed the spare DIC (Status unknown) and got the Car back together - ran perfect. Went on a 2 hour test drive in 98 degree weather. 3 miles from Home, the SAAB had serious and constant misfires. It felt like it was running on 3 or 4 cylinders. Drove it Home with bad misfires. Shut it off in Driveway and it only cranked, no start. I tried yet another DIC for the rear-bank and no-start. Car acted flooded but DK. The Front DIC is newer and no signs of issues. Let Car sit a few hours and it started up and run smoothly.

So here is the weird part. Driving the SAAB over least 3 miles with multiple cylinder misfires generated no CEL's. Plugged in my Innova Code Reader. Ran scan and zero misfires, everything normal. So the ole SAAB 9-5 ran poorly but the ECU had no idea there was an issue? Could this be a coincidental Crank-position sensor failure with the heat? My SAAB seems to throw codes pretty easily but not today.

I really don't know what to look at next? Granted, I had the upper Intake Manifold off to replace the rear Valve Cover gasket. I don't find anything I left unhooked but I suppose there could be?

Any thoughts on why on CEL? Where to go next?
