I Found another DIC on my SAAB shelf in the garage. I had 3 spares, but I know one burned up years ago and I didn't mark it. So I put the third DIC on the SAAB for the rear bank. It started and I drove it 50 miles on freeway and heavy City traffic. It ran perfectly and continues to do so. The new valve cover gaskets appear to not be leaking. Several years ago, the PCV Check-valve failed which allowed positive pressure from the intake to pressurize the crankcase. That event blew out the front Valve cover gasket. I replaced it but not the rear one. This time they were both leaking. The gaskets I removed were crumbling and cracked. After both are now replaced, the oil leaks are stopped. I'm sure on a 23 year old SAAB, there are gaskets somewhere drooling. No oil spots in driveway, however. The last time the Check-valve failed on the PCV hose, I took the Oil Cap and drilled a hole through it. I installed a Check-valve there which opens under pressure. I probably should have put it somewhere else? I have a Friend with a Twin Turbo BMW and a similar component failed and the high boost pressure damaged lots of engine gaskets. Of course a BMW is so expensive to have repaired. So that is where I got the idea of installing a safety valve.

So for the time being, the ole SAAB 9-5 Arc is running great. Too bad the Hood and Roof look so bad due to a Tesla Driver spraying out Car with some type of acid. It burned through the paint and into the metal. At least it's a old Car. The Trunk and sides look really clean. I'm sure my Insurance would either not pay to have the Car repainted or if they did, they'd raise my rates. Allstate sucks but we've been with them lifetime. We are Grandfathered in to only pay insurance on the Vehicle we want to drive. So we have 4 Cars and insure any 2. No one else will do that for us.
