I now have an 02 Aero and an 09-5 SE wagon. Prior to these Saab's I have had two 5series BMW's, one Eclass wagon and an Audi A6.
My wagon has 36,000 miles and has been a reliable pleasure to drive. The only issues are the replacement of two headlight bulbs. It is quick and spaciuous and performs well in the winter.
When buying the Aero in June, I looked at the Audi and the Volvo. I was swayed by two factors. Most importantly, the Aero is a blast to drive, with the Audi feeling sluggish in comparison. I also was worried by the Audi's reliability rating (consumer reports and others), compared to my own experience with Saab.
When pulling onto the freeway this evening, I realised again I had made the right choice. If you can wait, it might be worth waiting until the new A6 arrives, as I believe it is only 18 months away.
