I just went out and got the warranty sheet from my car:

"should any weather induced imperfections appear after professional application, the authorized dealer will repair said imperfections: fading, loss of gloss or oxidation and reapply Sym-Tech paint sealant to the affected area..."

The company which makes the sealant is called "Sym-Tech"

I do want a nicely detailed car, but ocassionaly I slack off and I wanted the extra protection of the sealant. Your analysis of the price fails to account for the time required to apply 12 coats of polymer. How long does it take to apply this sealant to a wagon? My guess is 2 hours minimum- that adds up to 24 hours of my time- which IMO, is indeed worth a fraction of what I paid the dealer to do it. It should be noted however, that the fraction will be greater than 1.
