How much should a dent in a door cost?

Last week when I was returning home from work someone had left a message on my windscreen. This someone was one of the last of a dying breed - an honest person!
Anyway this woman had dented the driver's door on my Aero. I called her up and she said that probably her company will pay up (since she was driving a company car), otherwise she would pay the damage herself. My SAAB garage had a look at it and gave a written offer for LUF 24,000 (approx. US$ 540) for a barely visible dent. I faxed the offer to her this morning and haven't had a reply yet, but I feel a bit embarassed about this ourageous sum of money for a carelessly opened door.
BTW the repair work includes removing door, fixtures (e.g. mirror, door handles) AND front wing (incl. new Aero emblem), fixing the dent in the door, polishing and repainting the door AND wing.
The dent is in the door. Why do they have to repaint the front wing. Is there a good reason for this, or are they just trying to make more money (and if so, why not repaint the whole car ...?)???
Regards,
Caspar
