I agree with the others. Repainting is just not as good as original paint. At the factory, they apply paint in several layers with multi-million dollar machinery, starting with differnt types of primers, all in "clean room" type conditions, and then the paint is baked on. No way even a good paint shop can match that.
I've seen so many paint jobs cracked/faded that I resisted repainting the hood on my old Acura Integra that had so many little sand/gravel chips on it that up close it had a mottled appearance. I felt it still looked better and the metal was better protected than if I had the thing repainted.
So yeah, from my perspective, go to Dent Wizard / other paintless repair shop or just leave it. I have a ding on my Passat's door as well; I haven't fixed it yet because it's the car's only blemish and I figure if I fix it I'm tempting fate to do something worse. If I do fix it I plan to go to Dent Wizard.
