Yes, the dealer can screw it up. Repainting is always a compromise. The conditions may not be ideal and you have to have some overspray or a mask line. Paintless is the way to go if the dent is small.
If you are not near a shop, contact a new car dealer and ask who does their work. They all have someone who comes out and tweaks lot damage.
