Hi Jeff,

What a wonderful dilemma - you will most likely be very happy in either domain. My most recent "last" car was a 2001 Audi tt quattro (225hp/six speed). With my recent acquistion of a new family (!) - I had an urgent need for a car with a real back seat. I loved the Audi A6 2.7t with the six speed. I was less sanguine about the tiptronic for many of the above-mentioned reasons. I was looking at wagons and for 2002/2003 the choice was either a 3.0 litre or the ass-kicking S6 wagon. The Audi is so appealing because the quattro driveline is confidence inspiring - both in spirited dtiving and in nasty weather. The interior appointments of the A6 are sensuous. I ended up with the '02 Aero sedan (which I love) primarily because of the value factor ($35K out the door) - although this may come to haunt me at resale time. The car is a blast to drive, understeers predictably, and is very comfortable on my long commutes.
