We just picked up a 2002 Aero wagon with the automatic. What a nice car. I'm amazed at how good it is off the line. What really did it for my wife (it's her car) is the steering feel. It has to be the very best FWD sports wagon out there. There's nothing to tweak however. What would you do with your time Dean?!? :)
The 3.0t has a softer suspension and more removed steering feel. Knowing your driving style, go for the 2.3 HOT.
ps. If you get it, I can live vicariously through you as my wife won't let me drive her Aero.
