Josh, I compared all three (Aero 5 spd, A6 2.7t 6 spd & 530 5 spd)
I live near Toronto, Canada so my prices may or may not help.
1st I have been driving SAAB's for only 6 years, so I may seem a bit biased but here goes:
I love the BMW 530i, it has a wonderful engine, gearbox and styling (imo) it drives extremely well and is very roomy, but at $66,700 before taxes $0 discount it was a bit steep for me (lease rate was 4.9%)
The Audi A6 2.7t is a good all round car, even if it has a rather boring boot on it, All wheel drive is very handy at times but a pig on petrol and at close to $68,000 incl sport, premium etc...way over the top too.
The SAAB Aero on the other hand was $58,400 (list, with room to move)
It had all the thing I was looking for, excellent overall layout, quick and responsive, manual gearbox, good styling, high quality standards and after 6 years I honestly could not find a major fault with SAAB or after driving my 1999 95 2.3l 5 spd for the past 3 years with the 95 itself.
Hope this helps...........Cheers, Manumad
