I have a 2001 9-5 Aero wagon, which I like to drive a lot with one exception. The gearbox is one of the worst I have ever used. I can't seem to get a smooth, quick upshift. Every time I feel like I am forcing the transmission into gear (particularly when going from 2nd to 3rd), and I can never match the throttle speed right. The RPMs seem to hang up in 1st gear, and I thought that might be the issue but it does not seem to be.
The dealer is no help at all.
I like the car, but I can't see keeping it or buying another one. I commute across city streets, and the gearbox takes all the fun out of the ride. Plus it is hard to keep up with traffic out of the stoplights.
Any ideas?
