Maybe yours needs an adjustment of some sort? Does the '01 use the new SAAB synthetic MTF like my '02? If not, that might help smooth things out.
My '02 Aero has a great shifter. Sure, it likes to be shifted more slowly, than say, my old Civic, but the SAAB's shifter has better feedback; the stick just falls into gear when the rpms are just right. This SAAB is by far the best gearbox I've ever performed double-clutch downshifts on. After four months of ownership, I'm still surprised by how much I LOVE driving my car.
Hmm, gotta wonder, with such a stark constrast between my experience and yours, does anyone know if manual gearbox improvements were part of the many revisions that SAAB made for '02?
